Privacy

What we collect, why, where it is stored and your rights under Canadian privacy law, including Quebec’s Law 25.

Draft under legal review

This page is a draft prepared before review by counsel. It will be replaced by the reviewed version before launch.

This page is offered in English, French and Spanish. Subject to counsel’s review, the English version prevails in case of conflict.

What we collect

  • Account details: name, email address, organisation and preferred language
  • Import data you enter or upload: tariff items, descriptions, values, dates and origins
  • Billing details, handled by our payment processor; we do not store card numbers
  • Messages you send us through the contact form
  • Basic usage statistics without advertising cookies

Why we use it

We use your information to provide the service, produce your results and reports, send the emails you ask for, bill your plan, keep the service secure and meet our legal obligations. We send marketing emails only with your express consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Where it is stored

Your account and import data are stored in a database hosted in Canada. Some service providers process limited data outside Canada, mainly in the United States: web hosting, payment processing, transactional email, error monitoring and AI classification. For classification we send only the single product line being classified.

Artificial intelligence

AI may suggest a tariff classification or explain a result in plain language. It never decides eligibility. Customer data is not used to train AI models.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active and for the period required by law afterwards. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.

Your rights

You may ask to access or correct your personal information, withdraw consent or have your data deleted, and you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, to the Commission d’accès à l’information.

Person responsible

FSRC has designated a person responsible for the protection of personal information. Contact them through the contact page, choosing “General question”.
