How it works
Tell us what you import
Enter a tariff item, describe a product in your own words, or upload your import history. Add what your business does, because some remission orders depend on how the goods are used.
If you describe a product, we suggest a tariff classification. You confirm it; we never decide it for you.
We check every order in force
Your goods are compared with every federal surtax order and remission order we track, using written rules, each tied to its order and section. Rules FSRC has verified give verified results; rules still being verified give results marked “Provisional”. The rules use the dates in force, so a past import is checked against the orders that applied on that date.
- Which surtax applies, and at what rate
- Which remission order could cancel or refund it
- Which special authority code and evidence the claim needs
- Roughly how much money is at stake, going forward and retroactively
You get cited answers your broker can use
Every finding names the order, its SOR citation and section, and links to the official English and French texts. Each result carries the date the rules were last verified.
Outcomes are Eligible, Likely eligible (check evidence), Needs review, or Not eligible. When the facts you gave are not enough, we say so instead of guessing.
What we do not do
Remission Radar gives information and organises your evidence. It is not a customs broker and it never transacts with the CBSA. Only a licensed customs broker can account for goods and pay duties on your behalf.
- We do not file claims or corrections for you
- We do not give legal or customs advice
- We do not guarantee a refund: estimates depend on your facts and the rules in force
How we handle your data
Your account and import data are stored in a database hosted in Canada, protected by row-level security so that only your organisation can read it.
When we suggest a classification, we send our AI provider only the single product line being classified, never your import history. Customer data is never used to train models.
